Who we are.
AlcoTracker (“we”, “us”) helps you log drinks and understand alcohol units. This policy explains what we collect, why, and your choices.
- Controller: Pavel Solikov, UK.
- Contact: [email protected]
- App: AlcoTracker for iOS (iOS 18+).
Quick summary
- When you scan, the app sends a compressed photo to our Vercel proxy, which forwards it to OpenAI to identify the drink (type/size/ABV).
- We receive derived JSON back and show you an estimate; you can edit before saving.
- We don’t store the photo after processing.
- We don’t require an account. A random Device ID helps with quotas and reliability.
Tip: avoid capturing people or personal documents in photos. The feature works best with just the drink/bottle/label.
What we collect
1) For scanning & logging
- Image you capture (every scan): a compressed drink photo sent to our server for classification.
- Derived JSON: drink type (e.g., beer/wine/spirit), vessel/size estimate (ml), ABV estimate (%), confidence score.
- What you save: your confirmed drink log (type, volume ml, ABV %, timestamp). Units are computed as (ABV% × ml) / 1000 (UK units).
2) Technical data (service operation)
- App version, iOS version, device model
- A random Device ID (quota/rate limiting and reliability)
